The 1410-NX124 heater is an adjustable output motor winding heater manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is designed to prevent condensation build-up in the motor windings. Corrosion will occur due to condensation building up in the windings and this will damage the motor and its windings. The heater has an open chassis and it can be easily mounted. An optional enclosure is also available for the motor winding heater to protect it. It is a three-phase winding heater with a voltage rating of 460 Volts AC. It is a Series B heater that runs with 60 Hertz frequency. The 1410-NX124 heater can be used with motors with an output power rating of 15 Horsepower. The temperature rating of the heater ranges between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. The storage temperature should be between -25 and 85 degrees Celsius.
The 1410-NX124 heater is operated automatically without needing any adjustments from the operators. A status indicator is included which shows whether the power is supplied and whether the heater fuses are working properly. The motor winding heater is mostly used with starter devices. The device is ideal for damp and humid locations. The input voltage supply is converted into heat energy which is then applied to the motor winding which prevents condensation from forming in the windings. The generated heat is evenly distributed in all directions. The power delivered to the motor is 1 to 3 Watts per Horsepower unit in this variant. The 1410-NX124 heater is mostly used with three-phase squirrel cage motors. An RC snubber is equipped in the winding heater which helps to limit the rate of change of the voltage on the circuit.
