The Allen-Bradley 1494R-N100 Disconnect Switch is a flangeless disconnect switch specially designed for door mounting at depths of up to 23 inches. It has a rated insulation voltage of 660 Volts AC and a continuous current rating of 100 Amps. The disconnect switch body is made of glass-filled thermoset plastic. One distinct feature of the Allen-Bradley 1494R-N100 Disconnect Switch is that it opens and closes an electrical circuit by using a rotary operating handle which is linked to a connecting rod and a hitch pin in order to let the switch stay inside a protective enclosure and be activated from the outside, without opening the door. It is up to the users to install the disconnect switches in their own enclosures to provide enough tolerance for the switch to operate safely and effectively. Additional devices such as circuit breakers and overload switches must be installed for automatic short-circuit and overload current protection since the 1494R-N100 Disconnect Switch is not designed to operate automatically but to serve as a dependable manual type of disconnect device. Locking and tagging procedures can be implemented directly on the 1494R-N100 Switch because it comes with the holes needed to insert the locks.
