The 1494V-DS600 disconnect switch is a variable depth disconnect switch that has been designed, manufactured, and distributed by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This switch has been widely used in multiple industries to isolate different kinds of electrical equipment like circuit breakers and transmission lines. This specific disconnect switch comes with a continuous current rating of 600 Amps and to operate properly, it needs an IEC-rated isolation voltage of 660 Volts. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1494V-DS600 variable depth disconnect switch comes with an electrical life of about 6,000 operations at its rated current and a mechanical life of about 10,000 operations or about 240 operations per hour at its rated current.

Since the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1494V-DS600 variable depth disconnect switch is unfused, it can withstand a short-circuit capability of 10,000 Amps. It comes with a right-hand mechanism connected permanently to its structure, and with this feature, the switch complies with the NFPA 79 standards and it can be manually operated when required. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1494V-DS600 variable depth disconnect switch is composed of a switch, a connecting rod, and a permanent handle, and without any of these three components, the switch is unable to operate properly. If any of these components are damaged, new parts can be acquired as replacement parts from the 1494V series product line. The switch body is phenolic and it has plated copper contacts. Each accessory added to this equipment needs to be manufactured in zinc-plated steel and to have an RoHS finish. It is important to have a qualified technician performing the attachment of the switch and the overall mounting and installation processes to ensure safe and efficient operations.
