The 1494V-R2 operating handle us available from the accessories catalog of the 1494V series of switches, spare parts, and accessories by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This series is composed of disconnect switches and their accessories that meet industrial requirements for operations where the operators may need to disconnect a machine manually in an emergency or for maintenance. For additional safety measures, handles are permanently installed on the breaker so that it is easy to connect, disconnect, or reconnect when needed. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1494V-R2 operating handle is meant to be connected to the right side of the switch and through it, the host machine can be disconnected or reconnected manually. Once the handle and the switch is installed, it is through the handle that the switch can be activated or not.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1494V-R2 operating handle is covered by a protective housing that is equivalent to a NEMA 4 rated housing. This housing protects the device against different solid particles and liquids and the handle is made of a non-metallic material which makes it resistant to corrosion, vapors, and liquids. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1494V-R2 operating handle is compatible with switches within a current rating of 400 and 600 Amps. The disconnect switches and all of their components, including this accessory, are used to isolate whole electrical circuits so that maintenance operations can be performed safely. The action is manual and it is performed through the handle and the fuses contained in the switch. The installation of the handle must be performed by a qualified technician to avoid problems during operations.
