The 154-A11NB is an Allen-Bradley Starting Torque Controller (STC) primarily used to control the start-up characteristics of a 1-phase and 3-phase industrial AC motor. This controller is specifically used to lower provide a more efficient and safe motor start-up by providing smooth Torque increase, limiting the effects of mechanical stresses due to sudden increase of Torque. This controller is an open-type controller that is rated 380-480 VAC along with a voltage frequency of 50/60 Hz. It has a current rating of 11 Amperes and a power rating of 4 kW and 7.5 HP. The 154-A11NB motor comes with 10-80% selectable Locked Rotor Torque and configurable start times of 0.1 - 4.5 Seconds. It has maximum heat dissipation of 15 Watts and a thermal capacity of IEC 34 (S1), NEMA MG 1. The 154-A11NB is connected in series with a motor starter and configured using the embedded rotary digital switches. It comes with a motor overload protection provided by the overload relay integral to the motor starter. This device operates by starting the motor with the Torque value defined then gradually increasing the voltage during the defined acceleration period until a rated voltage is met. It comes with an RC Snubber network DV/Dt protection and is immune to 3400 V surge transient and showering arc of 150 V. this controller has a vibration rating of 2.5 G for 60 minutes and an operating shock of 30 G for 11 secs. It has high-temperature thermoplastic power poles and control while the metal parts are made of Anodized aluminum, plated brass, or copper.

The Allen-Bradley 154-A11NB industrial controller is a Starting Torque Controller or STC that has been designed for low-Horsepower 3-phase and single-phase rated squirrel-cage induction motors. The STC is designed to cushion the starting torque surge that is produced during a normal across-the-line starting process. As a result, the STC is able to provide smoother starts and reduce the downtime caused by vibration and shock related issues. This STC by Allen-Bradley is CE labeled, CSA Approved, and UL Listed. The 154-A11NB STC by Allen-Bradley has a compact design, which makes it easy to install in a new system and easy to retrofit. This controller comes with digital rotary switches which allow the users to set its initial ramp and torque time. The Allen-Bradley 154-A11NB STC controller is a compact device which comes with feed through wiring that allows for easy installation. Setting up this Allen-Bradley 154-A11NB controller requires the users to adjust its digital rotary switches. The initial torque value should be set between 10% and 80% of the locked rotor torque value. Moreover, the voltage ramp time can be adjusted, within a range of 0.1 to 4.5 seconds. This is a flexible combination that allows this STC controller to be used in various applications. The 154-A11NB controller by Allen-Bradley is an ideal replacement for resistor ballast starters, wye-delta starters, clutches, line reactors, flywheels, and fluid couplings. The typical applications for the Allen-Bradley 154-A11NB STC controller are applications in trolleys, bridge cranes, shrink wrap machines, monorails, conveyor belts, overhead doors, material handling equipment, lifts, fans, pumps, mixers, grinders, and elevators.
