The 1799-AUXCON Connector is an auxiliary power connector manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the 1799 Embedded I/O product line. The 1799 Embedded I/O family provides 24 Volts DC digital I/O modules. These units support direct mounting in the machine inside of a conveyor rail or in a field-replaceable unit. The 1799-AUXCON Connector and all the 1799 modules feature I/O circuits along with integral power supplies and DeviceNet I/O adapters that are built-in. The connector comes as a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly that features optional hardware that is well-suited for use in packaging applications. Generally, the 1799 Embedded I/O modules and components by Allen-Bradley are suitable for applications that are restricted by space limitations, as well as applications that require highly distributed inputs and outputs that are close to the actuators and sensors, and applications in devices which have enclosures.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1799 Embedded I/O series 1799-AUXCON Auxiliary Power Connector has a device power range of 10 to 30 Volts DC that accommodates a wide range of power supplies as well as different voltage levels from the supported network. This auxiliary power connector also features a universal NEMA Type 1 device that comes with inputs which are compatible with a variety of sensors, including both PNP sensors and NPN sensors. Other notable features of this auxiliary power connector include output short-circuit protection that helps to protect the outputs against any accidental miswiring. The 1799-AUXCON Auxiliary Power Connector comes with a hardware watchdog function that helps to put the outputs in a known state when the microprocessor fails.
