The 1799-D16U16V module is a 32-point I/O module with 16 sink and source input points as well as 16 sink output points. This board is manufactured by Allen-Bradley as a member of the 1799 Embedded I/O product series. This digital board module operates on an input voltage rating of 24 Volts DC. Allen-Bradley 1799 Embedded I/O modules, including the 1799-D16U16V I/O module, are compatible with the SLCs, PLCs, or the SoftLogix programmable controllers through the use of the DeviceNet scanners. All the embedded I/O module values can be retrieved through the PLC or SLC programmable controller data tables. Additionally, there is DeviceLogix technology in the 1799 Embedded I/O devices, and this functionality allows for control of the outputs and it manages the status of information locally from inside of the module. The operators can achieve these things via the DeviceLogix Editor, and this function block-based tool is a part of the RSNetWorx for DeviceNet.

The Allen-Bradley Zone Control Input/Output (ZCIO) versions of the 1799 Embedded I/O cards feature a Zone Interlocking Parameter (ZIP) which allows for the cards to communicate with one another directly. Additionally, the Zone Control input and output versions of the Embedded I/O cards include various cards like the 1799-ZCIOB card, the 1799-D10U10BZC card, the 1799-ZCIOV card, and the 1799-D10U10VZC card. Other notable features and benefits of the 1799-D16U16V I/O module include removable terminal block connectors that enhance quick installation and allow for quick repair.
