The 1799-DSCCON connector is a product of Allen-Bradley that is manufactured as an I/O mating connector and it is also a member of the 1799 Embedded I/O product line. The modules from this series offer 24 Volts DC digital inputs as well as output and they support direct mounting in the host machine inside of a conveyor rail or within the field-replaceable unit. These 1799 modules along with the 1799-DSCCON I/O mating connector have I/O circuits, integral power supplies, and built-in DeviceNet I/O adapters. They are sold separately as Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies that feature optional hardware that is made to suit the needs and requirements of the equipment’s mounting and packaging. These 1799 I/O modules are ideal for use with applications which have restricted space available, applications requiring highly distributed I/O that are close to actuators and sensors, as well as with applications which have distinct enclosures that are already installed.
The Allen-Bradley 1799-DSCCON I/O mating connector has a device power rating of 10 to 30 Volts DC which can handle a wide range of power supplies along with various voltage levels from the network. It features universal NEMA Type 1 inputs that are well matched and compatible with a broad range of sensors, including the NPN and PNP sensors. This unit also features output short-circuit protection which protects the outputs from being miswired. Other notable features of this I/O mating connector include a hardware watchdog function that helps to put the outputs in a specific state in case there is a failure with the microprocessor to prevent malfunctioning or a loss of data. The 1799-DSCCON I/O mating connector module is made to be installed near the sensors and actuators in a system and to lower the wiring costs.
