The 500LC-1200A1 contactor is an open contactor. It is part of the Bulletin 500LC product line from Allen-Bradley. The 500LC-1200A1 contactor has 12 normally-open poles. The coil on the contactor control module is rated for 110 to 120 Volts AC and 50 to 60 Hertz. This contactor comes without an enclosure, but Allen-Bradley provides enclosures for 500LC contactors which can be ordered separately if necessary. The types of surface-mounting enclosures which are available for this enclosure include Type 1 surface-mounting enclosures, Type 12 surface-mounting enclosures, Type 3R surface-mounting enclosures, and Type 4/4X stainless steel surface-mounting enclosures. Other enclosures which can be ordered as options include the Type 1 flush-mounting, Type 1 hinged, Type 12 hinged, Type 4/4X hinged, and Type 1 lift-off enclosures.

Depending upon the length and control voltage ratings, different lengths of control line are recommended by Allen-Bradley for the 500LC-1200A1 contactor. For 120 Volts AC control voltage, which is compatible with the 500LC-1200A1 contactor, the control line lengths with AWG 14, AWG 12 and AWG 10 size wires are 700 feet, 1050 feet, and 1670 feet, respectively. The 500LC-1200A1 contactor has 20 Amps and 30 Amps current ratings for general-purpose use. Maximum service voltage rating of the 500LC-1200A1 contactor is 600 Volts AC. The contactor uses a bi-directional single solenoid operating mechanism. The contactor may be applied to UL 67 listed panel boards and it supports multi-pole lighting for branch circuits. The 500LC-1200A1 contactor can be used for lighting loads such as fluorescent, metal halide, mercy vapor, quart halogen, and tungsten lighting system loads. The contactor installation should be performed by trained technicians only.
