The 592-EC3HF module is a solid-state relay module that belongs to the Bulletin 592 series from Allen-Bradley. The specifications for the 592-EC3HF module include 60 to 302 Amps of current rating and a contactor size of 5. The parameters settings that are downloaded to the relay take effect immediately. However, parameter changes made in a tool such as the RSNetWorx do not take effect until they are downloaded and applied to the device. Parameter 53 is intended as a safety feature and it can be used to prevent changes to the relay through programming. Parameter 54 can be used to reset all relay parameters to the factory default values. The 592-EC3HF module uses a RMS algorithm for the calculation of the RMS value of the current passing through the contacts. The 592-EC3HF module can sense currents ranging from 0 to 702% of the peak FLA setting.

The Allen-Bradley 592-EC3HF module is capable of reporting values that are greater than 720% of FLA. However, such values may lack the necessary accuracy. The 592-EC3HF module is a microprocessor based electronic overload relay module designed for the protection of squirrel cage induction motors. A wide range of LED status indicators and interfaces are provided on the front panel of the 592-EC3HF relay module. These include indicators for the network status, trip warning, and indicators for the 4 inputs and 2 outputs that are provided on the relay module. A reset button is also available on the front panel of the 592-EC3HF module. The integrated DeviceNet network port and the input terminals are also available on the front panel. Allen-Bradley recommends that the installation, commission, and operation of the relay only be performed by trained technicians.
