The 802T-AP is an industrial limit switch from Allen-Bradley’s Bulletin 802T family of Plug-in style Oil Tight Switch. This switch is a 2-circuit switch featuring 1 Double Pole, Double Throw (DPDT) contacts rated 120 VAC - 600 VAC with make contact rating of 7200 VA and Break contact rating of 720 VA; 72-120 VAC with make contact rating of 60 Amperes and break contact rating of 720 VA; 24-72 VAC with make contact rating of 60 Amperes and Break contact rating of 10 Amperes. The 802T-AP supports Clockwise and Counter-clockwise operations. It has an enclosure rating of NEMA 4, 13, 6P, and IP67 and pollution degree of 3 with an ambient operating temperature of -18…+110° (0…+230°) however, when used with a Wobble stick and cat whisker actuation devices, the switch’ operating temperature is -18…+54° (0…+130°). For a dual circuit switch such as the 802T-AP, the DC contact rating of this electrical device is 0.4 Amperes at 115-125 VDC; 0.2 Amperes at 230-250 VDC, and 0.1 Ampere at 550-600 VDC. When terminating signal wires to the 802T-AP, the accepted wire size is No. 12AWG and smaller solid or stranded copper wire however, it is recommended that nothing smaller than No. 18 AWG be used for proper tightening and termination of the signal wire. In addition, contacts in each of the switching circuits must be wired to the same polarity. After wiring, test and validate if the connected wires are properly tightened and do not interfere with the switch when mounted to the terminal block. Furthermore, tighten the cover screws to compress the make the switch assembly and terminal block compress the body gasket.
The Allen-Bradley 802T-AP Oiltight Limit Switch is a heavy-duty switching device that is specially designed by Allen-Bradley for motion control, building automation, automated machine movement control, and many other industrial applications on a plant floor that require a reliable and heavy-duty switch that is able to work in harsh environmental conditions. One of the most useful features of the Allen-Bradley 802T-AP Oiltight Limit Switches is its use of a separate wiring base that can be connected to the wiring coming from the nearby industrial controllers. This base is designed to provide a quick and easy way to change the switch when an electrical or mechanical fault occurs at the switching module, with no need for complete electrical disconnection. All the users need to do is unplug the damaged switch and replace it with a new one and this can be done in a matter of seconds. The Allen-Bradley 802T-AP Oiltight Limit Switch has an environmental protection rating of IP 67, which means that it is able to withstand most heavily-polluted industrial atmospheres, where it is not uncommon to have high humidity and condensation or significant quantities of water. The direction or orientation for the activation of the Allen-Bradley 802T-AP Oiltight Limit Switch is easily configurable for the application where the switch is going to be used, and the users have the option to operate the switch clockwise, counterclockwise, or in both directions. The mounting position can be in either the rear or front of the host device and the mounting is done using size 10 screws for all of the configurations. It is recommended to wire the switch in such a way that the entrances of the cables do not facilitate the ingress of water into the switch or its mounting base.
