The 836-A2E switch is a pressure switch that has been designed by Allen-Bradley. The main operating mechanism of the switch is to open or close electrical circuits in response to changes in different fluid pressure levels. These fluids can be pneumatic or hydraulic. The main purpose of using this switch is to protect different equipment or devices that are included in operations with these fluids. The Allen-Bradley 836-A2E pressure switch is composed of a finger-safe contact block shield, contact blocks, clear contact inspection covers, mounting brackets, a differential adjustment screw, and an operating rate adjustment screw. The differential adjustment level and the operating adjustment level can be modified and regulated through screws located in the center of the switch.

This switch uses a Type 7 & 9 and 4 & 13 enclosure that has been specially designed to be used in environments with hazardous gasses and dust. This enclosure comes with a special gasket and a 0-ring seal that prevents gasses, moisture, fluids, and dust from entering the enclosure and causing different kinds of damage. This switch is used to protect devices from pressure peaks that could end up causing damages. This switch has a maximum line pressure range of 280 PSI and an occasional surge pressure of 340 PSI maximum.
