The 836-C9E electromechanical pressure controller is manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as a member of the Bulletin 836 product line. It is a Style C device, it has external copper alloy bellows, and it also supports the Type 7 & 9, and 4 & 13 combined metallic aluminum enclosures. Some of the basic features and specifications of this device are an operating pressure range of 30 inches of mercury in a vacuum to 900 PSI, and this range is independently adjustable from the differential pressure range. The 836-C9E pressure control module has copper alloy bellows. The other components of the Bulletin 836 pressure control devices are a contact block, clear contact inspection cover, operating and differential pressure adjustment screws, trip indicating scale, mounting brackets, differential reference scale, and a finger-safe contact block shield which meets the IEC 529, IP2X, and CSA standards.

The typical applications of the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 836-C9E pressure control module include applications controlling the liquid level in a machine, high and low pressure alerts, monitoring of high and low pressure, air compressors, and compressed air monitoring systems. The Bulletin 836 line, including the 836-C9E pressure controller, is engineered and intended for use in opening and closing the electrical circuits while responding to the pneumatic (air or gas) pressure changes or the changes in hydraulic (water or oil) pressure. The pressure of the system is directly applied to the bellows, and while the pressure rises, the bellows exert the force on the main spring in the system. When the main spring’s threshold force is overcome, the motion is transferred to the contact block, thus causing actuation of the contacts is a process known as trip setting.
