The Allen-Bradley 836T-D463J Electromechanical Differential Pressure Controller is an 836 series differential pressure measuring instrument that is capable of tripping an electrical circuit according to a predefined pressure setting made by the users for meeting the required set point of the control variables in their industrial application processes. It operates with a voltage of 600 Volts AC and a current rating of 5 Amps. It can tolerate occasional surge pressures of up to 500 PSI.

The Allen-Bradley 836T-D463J Electromechanical Differential Pressure Controller is a standalone 836 series measurement instrument that constantly monitors the relative values of 2 independent pressure signals, with one signal connected to each of its 2 ports. The controller is designed to perform a mathematical operation automatically to determine the pressure difference between the pressure signals it is reading. When the value of that pressure differential reaches a certain preset point, commonly known as the setpoint, a pair of SPDT (Single-Pole, Double-Throw) electrical contacts in the Allen-Bradley 836T-D463J Electromechanical Differential Pressure Controller open or close the circuits that are connected to their terminals. Power-up and power-down applications such as starting up a motor, opening or shutting a valve, or sounding an audible alarm are made possible by triggering the electrical contacts of this device.
Each of the pressure input ports in the Allen-Bradley 836 series 836T-D463J Electromechanical Differential Pressure Controller uses an independent set of copper alloy bellows that are sensitive enough to provide a precise measurement of the pressure that they are supposed to read but also strong enough to work with highly polluted control mediums. The Allen-Bradley 836T-D463J Electromechanical Differential Pressure Controller is able to withstand outdoor weather conditions, provided that is normally kept within an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and a relative humidity range of 5 to 95% (non–condensing). The maximum voltage that can be applied in the electrical contacts is 600 Volts AC, with a maximum current of 5 Amps and a maximum differential pressure reading of 50 PSI. Only properly trained technicians should attempt to perform maintenance or repair operations on this pressure controller.
