The Allen-Bradley 836T-T251E Electromechanical Pressure Switch is a standard pressure switch from the 836 Pressure Control series. It has a pressure-sensing input that receives a pressure signal representing a direct measurement of the pressure in a section of tubing, inside a tank, or in a pressure chamber. When the measured value received in the pressure input reaches the setpoint that has been previously configured according to the users’ control algorithm, the Allen-Bradley 836T-T251E Electromechanical Pressure Switch will trip a pair of electrical contacts that are SPDT (Single-Pole, Double-Throw) contacts. The circuits connected to these contacts can then be used for executing a subsequent control action that is normally determined by a process controller such as a programmable logic controller (PLC). There is a wide variety of applications that could benefit from this pressure control device from both an operational and safety point of view.

 

The Allen-Bradley 836 series 836T-T251E Electromechanical Pressure Switch is a heavy-duty piece of pressure control equipment that is designed for withstanding the harsh environmental conditions normally present on most industrial plant floors, and it is constructed with an oil-tight, water-resistant Type 1, 4, and 13 enclosure that is rated for safe industrial use. The Allen-Bradley 836T-T251E Electromechanical Pressure Switch is suitable for installation in operating environments normally within the 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) temperature range. The recommended relative humidity level should remain between 5 and 95% (non–condensing). Indoor and outdoor installations are both allowed, but the manufacturer strongly recommends providing additional protection against direct exposure to sunlight and rainwater.  Only properly trained technicians should attempt troubleshooting, repair, or regular maintenance operations on this pressure switch.
