The Allen-Bradley 836T-T352J Electromechanical Pressure Switch is an electrical interrupter that is actuated by the external pressure signal that is connected to its input port. It comes either with a quarter-inch or a ⅜-inch female NPT thread port, and it is designed to receive external connections that resemble the existing conditions in the industrial application that the switch is intended to monitor and control. The Allen-Bradley 836T-T352J Electromechanical Pressure Switch uses a copper alloy bellows type of actuator that can change its position thanks to a set of springs and levers that are designed to automatically operate the electrical contacts at the setpoint that has been specified by the final users during calibration. Both the trigger setpoint and the reset setpoint are easily configurable by means of a set of screws and locking mechanisms that are correspondingly marked in the device.

The Allen-Bradley 836T-T352J Electromechanical Pressure Switch is compatible to work with compressed air, non-corrosive liquids, hydraulic oil, water, and several other types of pressure media. Special modifications can allow this switch to work in hazardous locations, but corrosive pressure media will damage the copper alloy bellows. The Allen-Bradley 836T-T352J Electromechanical Pressure Switch can be installed outdoors if appropriate protection against direct sunlight and rainwater is provided and where routine maintenance works are available. The hard and durable metal case of the device, coupled with an oil-tight plastic isolating material and secured with bolts, are excellent protective measures against water damage, but they should not be considered sufficient protection for use areas that may flood or experience inundation regularly.
