These Ethernet/IP-enabled encoders are designed to provide creative solutions for applications that complement the Kinetix 5000 and 5,500 architectures. The 842E-CM-SIP4BA Ethernet/IP Encoder provides auxiliary feedback via the Ethernet/IP network, eliminating the need for point-to-point wiring while allowing the users to use the device in a wide range of network topologies. The 842E-CM-SIP4BA Ethernet/IP Encoder features an Ethernet/IP interface with an embedded switch for topology flexibility for the Star, Linear, and Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies. The 842E-CM-SIP4BA Ethernet/IP Encoder offers different options to set IP addresses, and these include hardware switches, the dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), or on add-on profiles.

The 842E-CM-SIP4BA Ethernet/IP Encoder has an operating voltage range of 10 to 30 Volts DC with 200 milliamps of maximum current draw at 24 Volts DC and a maximum power consumption rating of 3 Watts.
