The 193-EC4AB E3 Plus electronic overload relay is an overload relay that belongs to the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 193-EC E3 Plus overload relay family and that is designed to provide thermal overload protection to industrial 3-phase motors. The 193-EC4AB relay comes with a thermal memory circuit that stores the thermal profile of the motor even when power is disconnected from the motor, and it initiates a thermal warning that alerts the users in the event of an impending overload trip. The 193-EC4AB relay also provides motor over-temperature protection by using an embedded positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PTC), which is programmed to trip when the temperature exceeds the set trip value.
The 193-EC4AB E3 Plus overload relay features four 24 Volts DC rated current-sinking inputs for connecting to external devices such as switches and contactors and 2 Form A relay outputs with 250 Volts AC operating voltage and 5 Amps of rated operating current. It comes with an external ground fault sensor input that incorporates “zero-sequence sensing” for high sensitivity ground fault protection. The 193-EC4AB relay has a voltage rating of 600 Volts AC and a trip current range of 1 to 5 Amps. It has a rated impulse strength of 6 kilovolts AC and a UL/CSA rated insulation voltage of 690 Volts AC. The 193-EC4AB relay has the DeviceNet (Slave Only) capability that allows for the uploading and downloading of the device configuration and the DeviceLogix programs, and it can be integrated into the DeviceLogix control environment for enhanced control.
