The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation H-4030-P-H04AN servo motor is a low-inertia brushless servo motor from the H Series. It can operate with compatible drives from the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Bulletin 1398 and ULTRA series. The H-4030-P-H04AN low-inertia brushless servo motor has an encoder that provides it with 2000 lines of feedback, which is the standard encoder line count for H Series servo motors. This servo motor also has a 24 Volts DC holding brake as a built-in special feature. The H-4030-P-H04AN low-inertia brushless servo motor uses neodymium-iron-boron magnets to achieve its low inertia levels.

The Allen-Bradley H-4030-P-H04AN is an AC brushless servo motor. It is a 230 Volts AC rated device with 6 poles. Users should not make a direct connection of this servo motor to the power supply because this device must be part of a servo drive controlled system. When coupled with a servo amplifier, the H-4030-P-H04AN can drive machinery at a nominal speed of 4000 RPM. There is a 2000-line optical encoder integrated into the motor for feedback to the control system. The motor is physically connected to the machinery over a NEMA56C flange. It operates with a 0.034 Nm/krpm damping torque and with the same friction torque.
The Allen-Bradley H-4030-P-H04AN has a rotor made of neodymium-iron-boron that is used to achieve low-inertia characteristics. This is important for applications that need high motor acceleration. Inside of the motor housing, there is an internal thermal switch which sends an alarm to the control system and prevents overheating of the motor. This switch has a 250 Volts AC voltage rating and a 5 Amps current rating. There are 2 electrical connection points – 2 M6x1mm threaded connectors. The H-4030-P-H04AN has extruded aluminum housing that is IP40 rated. If users install MS cable assemblies and shaft seals, then users can achieve IP65 protection rating. To avoid the overheating of the motor, its operating temperature must be kept between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius (32 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit). The shipping weight of the motor is approximately 7.3 kilograms (19.6 pounds). To simplify the installation procedure, Allen-Bradley is offering factory manufactured cables for encoder and power connections to the motor. These cables are offered in lengths of 10, 25, 50, and 75 feet.
