The HPK-E1609E-MB44AA motor is an HPK-series motor from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The motor, as with others in the same series, combines the high power found in induction motors with the enhanced positioning and rapid acceleration capabilities of servo motors to increase machine throughput. Additionally, the HPK-E1609E-MB44AA motor has optimized motor winding to ensure constant torque over a wide speed range. Also, the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation HPK series of servo motors have low rotor inertia which ensures that they have increased acceleration rates. For improved environmental protection, the HPK-E1609E-MB44AA motor, like other motors in the same series, has a gasketed junction box, shaft seal, and automatic T-drains and corrosion-resistant hardware.

To ensure that the HPK-E1609E-MB44AA motor performs as needed, it contains an integral blower for machine-cooling which allows for higher performance in a compact package. The motor has a rated input voltage of 400 Volts AC and a rated speed of 3000 revolutions per minute. Its frame size measures 1609 millimeters and it has a multi-turn high-resolution feedback encoder. Note that the encoder can achieve up to 2 million counts per revolution. Consequently, this helps to achieve smooth and precise control. Additionally, a multi-turn feedback encoder eliminates the homing routines. The motor contains a brake with a voltage rating of between 380 and 460 Volts AC. Note that the brake cannot be used as a stopping brake since it is are only meant to be used as a holding brake. However, when the system power fails, the holding brake can temporarily function as a stopping brake.
