The MPL-A220T-HJ42AA motor is a servo motor from the MPL series of low-inertia servo motors that are manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The MPL-A220T-HJ42AA low-inertia servo motor is built with permanent magnet technology, and the permanent magnets that are inside this motor are installed in a magnet stack that is 2 inches long. This servo motor is one of the most powerful servo motors available in the MPL servo motor series even though it is in the 200 Volts voltage class rather than the 400 Volts voltage class, because it can handle motor speeds of up to 6000 RPM. The MPL-A220T-HJ42AA permanent magnet servo motor receives feedback that it uses for its applications from an encoder that can handle up to 2000 lines of data at a time.
The Allen-Bradley MPL series MPL-A220T-HJ42AA low-inertia permanent magnet servo motor is designed for motion applications in industrial systems, and it can handle highly demanding motion applications reliably. This servo motor’s shaft does not come with a shaft seal, but a shaft seal can be installed if the servo motor will be exposed to moisture or to large quantities of fine dust. The MPL-A220T-HJ42AA servo motor uses a mounting flange to mount onto the devices that it will be used with. It does not feature a holding brake like some of the other MPL series servo motors have. Moisture can damage the MPL-A220T-HJ42AA servo motor if it enters the internal parts of the motor through the cable connections, but if the cables have been routed so that they form drip loops, moisture that collects on them will be routed away from the connection points and the motor’s operating life will be extended.
