The MPL-A330P-HJ72AA is a Kinetix Servo motor from Allen-Bradley. It is specifically part of the of the Kinetix MP series servo motors with low inertia output, high Torque to size ration. It is a compact brushless, synchronous AC motor that fits in tight spaces.

For installation, this motor is provided with Type FF free mounting holes, following IEC metric size. It uses SpeedTec DIN connectors for fast, secure and highly serviceable connections. It is a right angle connector that rotates up to 180 degrees. Additionally, this motor has a keyed shaft however, not supplied with a shaft seal and holding brake.

Appropriate shaft seal for use with this motor is MPL-SSN-A3B3. Without a shaft seal, this servo motor has an IP55 protection rating. When installed with the shaft seal, the protection rating meets IP66 standard. Shaft seals are used to prevent entry of liquids to the internal parts of the motor as these may damage the servo equipment. Shaft seals are made of nitrile and provided with lubricant to lessen friction and wear. Recommended shaft seal servicing and maintenance is within 3-12 months as shaft seals are highly subject to wear and tear.

The MPL-A330P-HJ72AA requires a Kinetix Servo Drive controller to allow configuration and local control. It is compatible for use with Kinetix Servo controllers such as Kinetix 5500, Kinetix 5700, Kinetix 6200/6500, Kinetix 6000, Kinetix 300/350, Kinetix 2000, and Kinetix 7000 while its is compatible for installation ins industrial applications such as Packaging, Converting, Material handling, Electronic parts and components assembly, and Automotive applications.

The MPL-A330P-HJ72AA is a permanent magnet low-inertia rotary servo motor that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Its rated speed is 5000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and it has a 1.8 kilowatts power rating. It works with 230 Volts AC input voltage, a continuous stall current of 12.0 Amps and 4.18 Amps of continuous stall torque. It has a 3-inch magnetic stack length, a 100-millimeter frame, and it features a 2000-line encoder that provides feedback on the of the motor’s position. The winding design of the MPL-A330P-HJ72AA low-inertia servo motor allows it to provide up to 40% better torque performance than conventional servo motors of a similar size. It requires external braking mechanisms to hold the motor shaft in applications where the motor shaft must remain at 0 rpm during a power loss and it does not feature a factory-installed shaft seal. When mounting the MPL-A330P-HJ72AA servo motor, the mounting pilot makes it easy to align its shaft and IEC metric mounting flange in the right positions. It comes with a shaft key and its SpeedTEC DIN right angle connectors can be rotated anywhere within 180 degrees for flexibility. The integral memory of the MPL-A330P-HJ72AA servo motor automatically sends its identity to a connected drive during its startup process so the operators do not need to manually enter the servo motor’s ID into the system when configuring it. Note that all the couplings and belts used to connect this servo motor to motion systems must be fastened properly to prevent them from coming apart during operation.
