The Allen-Bradley MPL-A420P-MJ24AA servo motor is an AC servo motor that is a part of the MP Series of low-inertia servo motors. Allen-Bradley’s engineers developed this servo motor with an innovative design to reduce its size while delivering considerably higher torque than bigger servo motors. The type of motor windings and rare-earth magnets used for the rotor make this servo motor more power-dense than standard servo motors. If it is connected directly to a load, this AC servo motor can rotate with 5000 rpm. It is also possible to increase the torque output of this servo motor by connecting it to a load over the gearbox. In this way, not only will higher torque levels be reached, but the operation of the MPL-A420P-MJ24AA servo motor will operate in its optimum speed range and the maximum torsional stiffness will be achieved.
The Allen-Bradley MPL-A420P-MJ24AA servo motor is a 200 Volts AC class servo motor that features 180-degree rotatable DIN connectors (SpeedTEC) for adaptable orientation of the connectors. It is delivered with a high-resolution multi-turn absolute encoder and with a 24 Volts DC holding brake. The encoder is specifically developed so that it does not need a battery to be functional. Overall, this MP series model is well-equipped to take over any industrial application from old DC motors or from AC motors and variable frequency drives without the need to buy any additional equipment except a servo drive. Transferring between old motors and new servo motors is a smooth process and very little time is required for installation and wiring. The MPL-A420P-MJ24AA servo motor is tested to work without any detected problems at temperatures between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius.
