The Allen-Bradley MPL-A420P-MK74AA MPL series servo motor is a high-performance brushless AC synchronous servo motor designed for high-performance motion control systems. The MPL-A420P-MK72AA servo motor offers an innovative motor design that provides a high torque rating in a compact package, and it also offers improved insulation for enhanced heat management. The MPL-A420P-MK72AA servo motor features a high-grade magnet rotor for quick acceleration. It offers smart motor technology with a built-in motor controller, an on-board motor memory for retaining the motor identity, and an on-board communication link for uploading the motor identity automatically to the system, thus significantly reducing the commissioning time. The MPL-A420P-MK72AA servo motor can be used in applications such as converting, packaging, electronic assembly, metal forming, and automotive applications.

The Allen-Bradley MPL-A420P-MK74AA MPL series servo motor has a 115-millimeter frame size and a magnet stack length of 50.8 millimeters (2 inches). It has an electro-mechanically operated 24-bit multi-turn absolute feedback encoder that requires no battery for operation. This feedback encoder provides high-resolution and absolute position feedback over 4096 angular turns. The MPL-A420P-MK74AA servo motor has no factory-installed shaft key or shaft seal, however, it comes with a 24 Volts DC spring-set holding brake for dynamic braking and high-precision and safety applications. The MPL-A420P-MK74AA servo motor has an IP 50 environmental protection rating by default that can be increased to IP 66 with an optional shaft seal. The MPL-A420P-MK74AA servo motor has a voltage rating of 200 Volts AC and an operating current rating of 12.7 Amps. It has a maximum rotor speed of 5000 RPM and a rated output of 2 kilowatts.
