The Allen-Bradley MPL-A540F-MJ74AA servo motor is a rare-earth permanent magnet AC servo motor with a frame size of 165 millimeters. It has a 230 Volts AC input power rating, while its nominal speed is 3000 rpm. The MPL-A540F-MJ74AA servo motor uses an IEC metric flange for mechanical installation, and it has a keyway shaft with no shaft seal.  This servo motor can be mounted either horizontally or vertically, and it is important to maintain the ambient temperature around the motor at or below 40 degrees Celsius. The MPL-A540F-MJ74AA servo motor is equipped with a 24 Volts DC brake which increases the size of the whole device but enables fast and secure device stopping.

The Allen-Bradley MPL-A540F-MJ74AA servo motor is engineered to be a part of modern industrial servo systems. This is why it has a memory card installed that can be automatically recognized by an AC servo drive that will be electrically coupled to the servo motor over its circular DIN rail 180 degrees rotatable connector. During the project phase, the engineers are able to get information on how this motor shares energy and communicates to Allen-Bradley Kinetix series servo drives, which can result in minimizing oversized or unused components in the system and in inventory. In this way, projects can be executed with lower initial hardware costs. Furthermore, this kind of pre-tested device cooperation can lead to improved energy efficiency and the reduction of operating costs. Servo motor controllers have numerous parameters to fit the whole servo system according to the requirements of the system and to maximize overall electromechanical system productivity.
