The Allen-Bradley MPL-B1510V-VJ42AA servo motor is 400 Volts AC servo motor. To extend the motor’s operating life, proper maintenance should be provided. Additionally, the MPL-B1510V-VJ42AA servo motor should be installed with the cable entry point on the underneath the motor’s housing and with a drip loop in the cable. Note that a drip loop is a downward cable bend that is meant to keep water off the cable and away from the servo motor instead of having the water running along the cable into the connectors. By preventing water and other liquids from running along the cable, a drip loop helps to reduce the potential for moisture-related problems. Additionally, the motor’s life can be prolonged if the MPL-B1510V-VJ42AA servo motor is not installed with the shaft pointing upward even when a shaft seal is provided. Such an installation orientation increases the risk of contaminant ingress. Also, in a place where bearing contamination is likely to happen, using a shaft seal is recommended.
Note that the MPL-B1510V-VJ42AA servo motor does not feature a shaft seal and one must be ordered separately. Some conditions that require that the motor to be fitted with a shaft seal include conditions where the motor shaft is exposed to moisture and fluids (such as lubricating oil from a gearbox) or where there is excessive exposure to fine dust. The Allen-Bradley MPL-B1510V-VJ42AA servo motor belongs to the Allen-Bradley MPL series of low-inertia servo motors. Motors in this family can be used in applications requiring high power packaged in a motor with a small frame. To reduce the motor size without affecting its output power level, the MPL-B1510V-VJ42AA servo motor employs an innovative design. As part of its design, the MPL-B1510V-VJ42AA servo motor, like others in the same family, has improved winding insulation material for enhanced thermal management and heat transfer which results in higher performance.
