The Allen-Bradley MPL-B230P-EJ42AA servo motor is a brushless AC servo motor. It belongs to the MPL series low-inertia motor family which uses premium permanent magnets for high performance. The MPL-B230P-EJ42AA servo motor belongs to the 400 Volts AC voltage winding class. It delivers 5000 RPM of speed and 0.86 Watts of power output. The radial loads are those which are applied to the middle of the motor shaft extension. The radial load force ratings for the MPL-B230P-EJ42AA servo motor at 1000, 2000, 3500, and 5000 RPM are 29, 23, 19, and 17 kilograms, respectively. The axial load force rating (the maximum radial load) for the MPL-B230P-EJ42AA servo motor at 1000, 2000, 3500, and 5000 RPM are 13, 9, 6, and 5 kilograms, respectively.

The MPL-B230P-EJ42AA servo motor has a frame size of 75 millimeters. The motor comes with a magnet stack length of 76.2 millimeters. A 128 sin/cos absolute single-turn encoder, which provides high-resolution absolute position feedback within 1 turn, is provided on the motor. A shaft key is also provided on the motor. However, a shaft seal and motor brake are not available. For mounting, the type FF holes on the IEC metric flange can be used. The MPL-B230P-EJ42AA servo motor connects with compatible drives such as the Kinetix 6000, Kinetix 300/350, and the Kinetix 7000 drives through a DIN connector. To avoid arcing or unexpected motion, the servo drive power must be disconnected before connecting or disconnecting the cables to the motor. The cables should be restrained to prevent flexing and uneven tension at the cable connectors. Support should be provided at 3-meter intervals throughout the cable run. Excessive and uneven lateral force at the cable connectors can lead to the opening of the environmental seal on the connectors or to the separation of the wires at the cable gland.
