This Allen Bradley (AB) MP low inertia AC synchronous servo motor is a 5000 rpm rated servo. This servo motor is a 230 AC class servo and comes with a shaft key, with no shaft seal installed on the servo if a shaft key is needed. Additionally, this MPL compact brushless motor can be connected by circular DIN (right angle) cable connectors which are included on this adaptible servo motor. It comes with a 24V DC brake for braking applications. This MP low inertia smart motor also features a single-turn absolute (high-resolution) encoder.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation MPL-B230P-EJ74AA servo motor is a premium permanent magnet servo motor. This brushless low-inertia type of AC servo motor from the Allen-Bradley MP series is rated at 5000 revolutions per minute, and it is equipped with a single-turn high-resolution encoder for accurate shaft position measurement. The MPL-B230P-EJ74AA servo motor also comes with a 24 Volts rated DC brake that has 40 pounds on an inch of holding torque. The coil current required to actuate the brake ranges from 0.46 to 0.56 Amps. The brake release time is 58 milliseconds. When 24 Volts DC voltage is applied to the brake, the specially designed low-friction armature is pulled by the electromagnetic force which overpowers the spring action. In this way, the friction disc can rotate freely. When DC power is removed and the electromagnetic force is removed too, the spring actuates the armature to lock the friction disc.
The Allen-Bradley MPL-B230P-EJ74AA servo motor delivers 0.86 kilowatts of output power and 18.6 pounds on an inch of continuous stall torque, and it requires a 460 Volts AC power supply. Note that this servo motor with its built-in encoder is only part of a servo motor system and that this system also requires a servo drive to be complete. The Allen-Bradley MP series servo motors are compatible with the Allen-Bradley Kinetix 2000, 6000, and 7000 families of AC servo drives. The connectors on the motor are SpeedTEC connectors that are easily detachable and reliable industrial grade connectors. There are some occasions where line filters and power transformers on the AC power lines of servo drive systems can be installed to prevent electromagnetic interference. If the users have sensitive equipment installed near the MPL-B230P-EJ74AA servo motor, then line filters must be installed to eliminate a negative impact on the other devices’ performance.
