However, this holding brake is not meant to be used to stop the shaft rotation directly and it is not meant to be used as an emergency device, and misuse of the holding brake may damage the brake or the motor. The holding brake can be used occasionally to stop the motor in the event of a power failure, but it cannot be used in this manner too often. When cables are connected to the MPL-B230P-HJ44AA servo motor, they must be connected so that they form drip loops that will route moisture away from the servo motor and its connection points.
