The MPL-B320P-MK72AA servo motor with standard options is an Allen-Bradley AC servo motor. It is part of the MP series of low-inertia servo motors which are powered by premium permanent magnets, offer a maximum motor speed of up to 8000 rpm with 0.16 to 18.6 kilowatts of rated output power. Because MP series servo motors produce a leakage current exceeding 3.5 milliamps AC or 10 milliamps DC in the protective earthing conductor, the motor cables should be properly grounded. Unmounted motors, loose shaft keys, disconnected cables, and disconnected mechanical couplings are dangerous if power is applied to them. Therefore disassembled equipment should be locked-out and tagged-out. The circular DIN connector on the motor can be rotated anywhere within a 180-degree range. However, the connector should be rotated into the desired position during the motor installation process and it should then remain in that position. Excessive connector rotation or force can lead to connector seal damage. The shaft, pulleys, and couplings should not be struck with tools during the installation or removal process.

Rated at 5000 rpm, the MPL-B320P-MK72AA servo motor operates at an input voltage of 400 Volts AC. With a magnet stack length of 50.8 millimeters (2 inches) and with a 100-millimeter frame size, the motor weighs approximately 3.7 kilograms and it delivers 1.5 kilowatts of output power. For mounting, an IEC metric flange is provided on the MPL-B320P-MK72AA servo motor. Allen-Bradley provides the servo motor with a 1024 sin/cos absolute multi-turn encoder (the hiperface protocol). Features that are not available on the MPL-B320P-MK72AA servo motor include a motor brake, a shaft key, and a shaft seal. Both the shaft seal and the motor brake are available as options from Allen-Bradley and they can be ordered separately if they are required.
