The MPL-B420P-RK24AA servo motor is an MPL series low inertia servo motor that has been designed by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation with innovative windings that provide stable operation by enabling the motor to release heat quickly and to reach a torque level that is up to 40 percent higher than regular servo motors are capable of. However, even with these windings, there are still specific environmental conditions that must be met in the environment where the motor will be installed and used. The temperature must not exceed 40 degrees Celsius and the environment must not contain corrosive materials. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation MPL-B420P-RK24AA low inertia servo motor includes a feedback device that enables it to detect its exact position to provide exact operations. It can be paired with an Allen-Bradley Kinetix series servo drive in a variety of applications.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation MPL-B420P-RK24AA MPL series low inertia servo motor delivers a rotation speed of up to 5000 RPM and it uses permanent magnet technology that is provided by internal magnets that are arranged in a magnet stack which is 2 inches long. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation MPL-B420P-RK24AA low inertia servo motor is also equipped with a 24 Volts DC rated holding brake that requires a separate power source. This brake is used for controlling the current that is being sent to the motor. If the motor experiences an emergency or an error, the brake will detect the situation and it will stop current from flowing into the motor until the emergency or error has been addressed. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation MPL-B420P-RK24AA low inertia servo motor can be installed in tight spaces because of its compact size. Once installed, it should be inspected periodically for signs of wear and damage to extend its operating life.
