The Allen-Bradley MPL-B420P-SJ74AA MPL series servo motor is a synchronous type of servo motor. It is part of the low-inertia MPL series of servo motors and it is designed for use in industrial applications such as packaging, automotive and converting applications, and it can be used with several Allen-Bradley Kinetix series servo drives. The minimum protection rating of this servo motor is IP 50, and this protection rating is achieved when the motor is mounted with the shaft pointing vertically upwards. If it is mounted with a horizontal shaft, it has an IP 51 protection rating, and if it is mounted with the shaft pointing vertically downward, it has an IP 53 protection rating. The MPL-B420P-SJ74AA servo motor has a shaft without a seal. If an optional shaft seal kit is installed on the motor and sealed cables connectors are used, then the protection rating of the motor will improve to IP 66.
