The Allen-Bradley MPL-B4540F-RK74AA MPL series brushless servo motor operates with low inertia and in the 400 Volts voltage class. This brushless servo motor comes with windings that have been improved in comparison to older Allen-Bradley servo motors. These improved widings enable the motor to reach up to 40% higher torque and to release heat faster than older servo motors are capable of. This brushless servo motor can be used with the Allen-Bradley Kinetix 6000, Kinetix 6200, Kinetix 6500, Kinetix 300, and Kinetix 350 series servo drives. The Allen-Bradley MPL-B4540F-RK74AA brushless servo motor has “smart motor technology” that uses memory cards to retain information about the motor identity where it can be accessed quickly, and this reduces the commissioning time during the start-up process. The Allen-Bradley MPL-B4540F-RK74AA brushless servo motor supports a rotation speed of 3000 RPM and a 2-pole resolver that provides precise feedback about the current position of the motor.

The Allen-Bradley MPL-B4540F-RK74AA brushless servo motor comes with a circular SpeedTec connector that is rotatable up to 180 degrees in either direction. This wide range of rotation enables the technicians to fix the servo motor in a specific location and it provides a significant amount of flexibility in terms of mounting options. It is recommended to install the Allen-Bradley MPL-B4540F-RK74AA brushless servo motor in a controlled environment where it will not be in contact with corrosive vapors or gases. The lifespan of this servo motor can be extended by performing periodic inspections of the motor and all the components connected to it to ensure that they are working correctly. If the motor will be exposed to contact with fluids in a certain environment, a shaft seal and shaft key must be added to it to provide it with a higher degree of protection. When connecting wires to the motor, it is recommended to keep wire lengths as short as possible and to route sensitive wiring away from the input power wiring.
