The Allen-Bradley MPL-B580J-SK74AA MPL series servo motor is a 400 Volts voltage class low inertia servo motor. It is designed to be compact while delivering considerably higher power output and torque than standard servo motors. Its high torque to size ratio makes it ideal for demanding applications in high-performance motion control systems. The MPL-B580J-SK74AA servo motor has a brushless and low inertia design that uses premium permanent magnets to replace the older technology that is used in conventional brush-type servo motors. The frame size of the MPL-B580J-SK74AA low inertia servo motor is 165 millimeters, and the magnet stack length of the permanent magnets inside the motor is 8 inches. With innovative 460 Volts-rated windings, this servo motor is capable of 40 percent higher torque than standard servo motors are, and its improved insulation offers better thermal management, resulting in higher performance.

The Allen-Bradley MPL-B580J-SK74AA MPL series servo motor has a rated rotor speed of up to 3750 RPM. The rated output of the motor is 7.9 kilowatts. This servo motor comes with a 24 Volts DC rated holding brake. The brake rotor inertia of the motor is 0.0030 kilograms per square meter and its weight is approximately 29 kilograms. The holding brake on the MPL-B580J-SK74AA servo motor has a rated holding torque of 28.3 N-m. The holding brake creates a mechanical backlash of 25 arc minutes when engaged.
