MPL-B640F-SJ74AA

The MPL-B640F-SJ74AA servo motor has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation in the MPL series. It is a revision of the earlier MPL-B640F-SJ24AA servo motor that comes with circular SpeedTEC DIN connectors. This low-inertia servo motor has a rugged construction, an IP 50 enclosure rating that can be upgraded to IP 66 with a proper shaft seal, a wide operating temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, and a tolerable non-condensing relative humidity rating of up to 95 percent. The MPL series brushless servo motors like the MPL-B640F-SJ74AA servo motor come with a variety of feedback options, and this servo motor comes with an absolute single-turn encoder with High-Performance Interface or Hiperface protocol support. The 460 Volts rated winding, the rare-earth permanent magnets in the rotor, and the improved insulation and heat transfer of the motor are all designed to increase the motor’s acceleration and torque to inertia ratio.

The nominal speed of rotor rotation for this servo motor is 2000 RPM and the maximum speed of rotor rotation for this servo motor is 3000 RPM. The MPL-B640F-SJ74AA servo motor comes with an optional spring-set holding brake with a supply voltage rating of 24 Volts DC that releases when the voltage is applied to the brake’s coil. The circular SpeedTEC brake connector on the motor is used to power the holding brake. The MPL-B640F-SJ74AA servo motor comes with a keyed shaft with a keyway that can connect rotating shafts to rotating components. The motor supports flange mounting with IEC metric mounting holes.
