The Allen-Bradley MPL-B980E-MJ24AA servo motor is a premium segment servo motor with a maximum rated speed of 2500 rpm. It is one of the most powerful Allen-Bradley MPL series servo motor with the power rating of 13.0 kilowatts. The MPL-B980E-MJ24AA servo motor provides a feedback signal of its shaft’s exact position over a multi-turn high-resolution absolute encoder. This high-resolution device measures the degree of rotation within a full circle (360 degrees) but it also tracks the aggregated number of revolutions of the motor shaft that is firmly coupled with the encoder. For data processing, the encoder uses an exclusive digital word for the number of revolutions and for each motor position. Multi-turn encoders are especially useful for applications involving synchronized axes that are offset. With this type of encoder, the offsets will not be lost when the machine loses power and the system can continue to work when the power is restored without having to go back to the home position first.
