|

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation VPL-A1002C-PK12AA servo motor is a low-inertia brushless servo motor from the VPL series. Its application feedback is derived from a multi-turn encoder which is an absolute type of multi-turn encoder and which supports the Hiperface DSL protocol. The VPL-A1002C-PK12AA brushless servo motor has a smooth shaft with no shaft key or shaft seal. An optional shaft seal can be installed if the motor’s shaft needs additional protection from water or particles in certain applications. The VPL-A1002C-PK12AA brushless servo motor can operate in a temperature range of 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and in a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5 to 90%.

The VPL-A1002C-PK12AA servo motor is a Kinetix VP-Series low-inertia servo motor manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Its operating voltage rating is 200 Volts AC and its power rating is 1.03 kilowatts. Its speed rating is 2500 revolutions per minute and it features a smooth shaft. It has 2 magnet stacks and it uses an 18-bit absolute multi-turn digital encoder to provide position feedback. This motor features standard factory options and it is suitable for meeting the demands of motor-driven machines in a variety of applications. The maximum radial load force capacity of the VPL-A1002C-PK12AA servo motor is 4.48 kgf and its maximum axial load capacity is 13 kgf. This motor is intended to run with drives in the Kinetix 5500 series as well as with Kinetix 5700 dual-axis inverters.

The VPL-A1002C-PK12AA servo motor has low rotor inertia and its single-cable design reduces motor connectivity to a single cable and a connector which allows for easy installation and maintenance. Its connector is a 325 degrees rotatable SpeedTec DIN connector and the IEC mounting flange of this motor has (type FF) free mounting holes. Note that the VPL-A1002C-PK12AA servo motor does not come with a built-in braking system. However, it is compatible with external braking mechanisms. For the best performance, the cable length between this motor and its control system (drive) should be kept as short as possible. Using a shielded cable for its installation allows it to be used in environments where sensitive equipment is present without causing electromagnetic interference that would affect other equipment.
