The Allen-Bradley 140G-G2C3-C40 molded case circuit breaker is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker designed to provide thermal overcurrent and short-circuit protection to industrial control panel applications. The 140G circuit breakers are sized per table 450-152 of the NEC code, and they come in a very compact package with field-installable accessories that make them ideal for nearly all industrial environmental conditions. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker is rated at 690 Volts AC voltage per the IEC standards (600 Volts AC voltage per the UL/CSA standards) and it has a 125 Amps current rating. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a 25,000 Amps (25 KA) interrupting rating and a rated insulation voltage of 800 Volts AC.
The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a magnet trip rating of 500 Amps and a 40 Amps thermal rating. It has 8 kilovolts of AC voltage. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a trip unit with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip ratings, and this trip unit provides fast-acting trip action using a high current-heated bimetallic element and an electromagnetic coil in series with the line current. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a rotary switch, which opens and closes the circuit breaker’s contact, and it also helps to show the breaker’s position. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a 3-pole wiring configuration, and bolt-on line and load terminals. It has slots for internal accessories (such as the auxiliary alarm, auxiliary contact, shunt trip, shunt close, under-voltage release, and the current transformer), and a pig-tail wiring termination for these accessories. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has an operating limit of 40 degrees Celsius without de-rating, and it is rated 80% efficient at this temperature. It has an average weight of 1.1 kilograms, and approximate dimensions of 76.2 x 70 x 130 millimeters.
