The only requirements to use this circuit breaker in any application are that the voltage, short-circuit current, and the amperage of the unit or conduit are all compatible. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 140G-G2C3-C70 molded case circuit breaker is a thermal and magnetic trip circuit breaker. These 2 trip options enable the breaker to protect itself against abnormal currents through the use of 2 metal bars that receive heat generated from the current. The use of magnetic tripping is more specialized for detecting short-circuit current. It has an interrupting capacity of 25 kA.

Besides being used as a protective unit in an industrial application, the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 140G-G2C3-C70 molded case circuit breaker can also be used as a feeder breaker. This means that the breaker can provide isolation and short-circuit protection for panels and at the same time provide thermal protection for the feeder wires.
