The Allen-Bradley 140G-G3C3-C20 molded-case circuit breaker is used to protect circuits and conduits. This breaker has detection capabilities that act when a short-circuit current is present. Through the breaker’s poles, an interrupting action is performed that stops the current flow. The Allen-Bradley 140G-G3C3-C20 molded-case circuit breaker employs a fixed magnetic and a fixed thermal mechanism to detect current and it has 3 poles to perform the current interrupting action. Once a fault condition has been detected and cleared, the breaker can be put back into operation. The breaker’s 3 poles are connected. For installation, the recommended cables to attach the breaker are those intended for temperatures of 60 to 75 degrees Celsius. Although the breaker has been designed to operate in humid and hot environments, if the temperature exceeds 50 degrees Celsius, its thermal detection mechanism may be affected.
In environments with temperatures is under the 0 degrees Celsius, however, there may be ice formations around the 140G-G3C3-C20 circuit breaker. The breaker can withstand shocks and vibrations of at least 2 to 13.2 Hertz per 1 millimeter. The Allen-Bradley 140G-G3C3-C20 molded-case circuit breaker can be mounted in different positions without diminishing or modifying its performance. However, this feature may still be limited since some regulations, such as the NEC standards, will not allow the breaker to be mounted vertically in the “ON” position, instead of in of the “UP” position. The Allen-Bradley 140G-G3C3-C20 molded-case circuit breaker has a current range of 20 Amps and an interrupting capacity of 25 kA. It operates within 80% of its continuous rating value.
