The Allen-Bradley 140G-G6C3-C40 circuit breaker is a molded case circuit breaker from the 140G series. This 3-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is packed in a 76.2 millimeters x 70 millimeters x 130 millimeters housing made of a special plastic insulating material that is highly thermal resistant. The 140G-G6C3-C40 circuit breaker supports a thermal trip at 40 Amps and a magnetic trip at 500 Amps. The trip values are fixed for this model and cannot be adjusted by the users. The Allen-Bradley 140G-G6C3-C40 circuit breaker operates with a maximum continuous current rating of 40 Amps (calibrated and tested at 40 degrees Celsius). This device is easy to install while following the instructions provided in the same box as the device, but due to the operation of the device with high currents and dangerous voltages, an installation by specially trained and expert technicians is recommended.
There are many accessories available with the Allen-Bradley 140G-G6C3-C40 circuit breaker, like auxiliary switches, alarm contacts, and shunt trips. The interrupting rating of the breaker is 65 kA at 480 Volts AC. It has high-quality internal components that enable more than 25,000 operations (mechanical life). The standard way of mounting this circuit breaker is to position it on the DIN rail, but this breaker also supports other installation options with the use of adapters. If the Allen-Bradley 140G-G6C3-C40 circuit breaker is installed as the main circuit-breaking mechanism in industrial operator panels. The usual method of actuating the circuit breaker is by using a rotary operator mechanism which converts rotary motion to a linear movement that turns the circuit breaker on or off. This mechanism must be ordered separately.
