The Allen-Bradley 140G-G6C3-C60 circuit breaker is a molded case circuit breaker that has an integrated temperature-sensitive device and a current-sensitive electromagnetic device that are ready to protect electrical circuits if the current limit values are reached. This device can safely operate with voltages of up to 690 Volts AC (the insulation voltage rating is 800 Volts AC) or 500 Volts DC. The 140G-G6C3-C60 circuit breaker is a specially designed automatic device that acts as a switch that monitors the current flowing through it to electrical devices and that automatically opens when the current value exceeds 60 Amps, which is the nominal current rating of this device. This circuit breaker comes with the non-interchangeable thermal-magnetic trip unit and has 3 poles. The thermal protective action is actuated by utilizing a bimetal strip that produces a mechanical movement due to a temperature increase caused by excessive current, and the magnetic protective action produces a mechanical movement by the means of an electromagnet.
The Allen-Bradley 140G-G6C3-C60 circuit breaker is 60 Amps rated, but this fixed limit value can be affected if the circuit breaker is exposed to temperatures higher than 40 degrees Celsius. The interrupting rating of the device at 480 Volts AC is 65 kA. There are situations where, due to the position of the elements or wiring, it is convenient to swap the places for the input and output terminals on the circuit breaker. This kind of configuration is called reverse feeding and it must be certified before it can be used. It is certified in the 140G-G6C3-C60 circuit breaker. The weight of the device is 1.1 kilograms (2.42 pounds), and its dimensions are 76 millimeters x 130 millimeters x 70 millimeters.
