The 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker is a current-limiting circuit breaker from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This circuit breaker has a molded case, and it is capable of providing protection against high-fault currents. The 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker can be used in industrial applications such as power distribution, lighting, and motor control applications. Note that the current limiting capability of the 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker is used upstream of the final load to limit current to the load. This breaker features an indicator to show if the breaker is ON, OFF, or TRIPPED. The 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker belongs to the 140G series of circuit breakers with molded cases from Allen-Bradley. With this breaker’s trip unit employing a thermal-magnetic approach, the operating temperature must be maintained at the required levels to avoid accidental tripping.
For example, the 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker has a maximum rated ambient operating temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. The mechanical operation of the breaker could be affected if the ambient temperature is significantly below this level. Note that at 40 degrees Celsius, the 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker, like other thermal-magnetic circuit breakers, carry higher currents than their continuous current ratings. However, when operating in an industrial environment with a surrounding temperature exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, this breaker carries a lower current than its continuous current rating. In such conditions, the 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker is prone to nuisance tripping and this calls for the recalibration of the breaker to accommodate a higher operating surrounding temperature. When being stored or transported, the 140G-H2I3-C25 circuit breaker supports a temperature ranging from a minimum of -40 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 80 degrees Celsius.
