The 140G-H6C3-C40 circuit breaker is a 140G series circuit breaker from Allen-Bradley. Features of 140G circuit breakers include 10 Amps to 3000 Amps current ratings, 3-pole and 4-pole options, and thermal/magnetic protection in the 15 to 8000 Amps current range, and electronic protection in the 10 to 3000 Amps current range. The 140G series breakers are also approved for global application by the UL, IEC, CCC, and CSA standards. The rated current for the 140G-H6C3-C40 circuit breaker is 40 Amps. The device comes with a fixed thermal/magnetic trip system. The preconfigured thermal and magnetic trip settings are 40 Amps and 400 Amps, respectively. The interrupting capacity for the breaker at 600 Volts AC and 240 Volts AC according to the UL 489 standards are 25 kiloamps and 150 kiloamps, respectively. The breaking capacity for the 140G-H6C3-C40 circuit breaker at 500 Volts DC and at 250 Volts DC according to the applicable IEC standard is 70 kiloamps at both 500 and 250 Volts DC.
The 140G-H6C3-C40 circuit breaker is an H Frame device with 3 poles. Its approximate weight is 1.2 kilograms. The breaker comes with a 1000 Volts insulation voltage rating. The environmental specifications include a -40 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit storage temperature range and the maximum recommended temperature for breaker operation of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Ambient temperatures exceeding 104 degrees Fahrenheit lead to derating. Prior to installation or servicing, the power to the electrical system must be disconnected for the prevention of injury or equipment damage. The enclosure in which the circuit breaker is installed must be capable of protecting the breaker from dangerous contaminants. The dimensions of this breaker with an H Frame enclosure are 130 x 82.5 x 90 millimeters (height x depth x width).
