The 140G-HTC3-C70 circuit breaker is a molded case circuit breaker manufactured by Cutler-Hammer, a division of the Eaton Corporation. The 140G-HTC3-C70 circuit breaker features the HC frame type and it comes with an amperage rating of 125 Amps. The unit features a current range of 70 Amps, while the rated insulation voltage is 1000 Volts. The pole configuration for the 140G-HTC3-C70 circuit breaker is 3 poles and the unit features the fixed thermal or fixed magnetic trip methods. The 140G-HTC3-C70 circuit breaker features a mechanical life of 240 operations per hour. The electrical life is rated at 120 operations per hour. The shipping weight is 2.65 pounds and the rated impulse withstand voltage is 8 kV.

The 140G-HTC3-C70 circuit breaker provides protection against overcurrents for the equipment or the conductors on which the unit is used. The operation is programmed to take place automatically before the current has reached the level where it can result in a dangerous temperature on the conductor or the insulation of the conductor. The 140 G molded case circuit breakers also serve as important circuit breakers for various control panels. The circuit breakers provide protection that pertains to the low-level overcurrent, and the short-circuit current. The fault current setting for an application is calculated at any point in the system. However, it is important to note that in order to apply the correct circuit breaker, the actual interrupting rating for the circuit breaker should equal the amount of fault current to be delivered at the point where the system breaker is to be applied. When applying the circuit breaker, remember that the breaker’s interrupting rating decreases whenever there is an increase in the voltage.
