The 140G-I3C3-D22 circuit breaker is a circuit breaker from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) defines a circuit breaker as a mechanical switching device that is capable of making, carrying, and breaking currents under normal circuit conditions and also of making, carrying for a specific time, and breaking currents under specified abnormal circuit conditions such as those of a short-circuit. The 140G-I3C3-D22 circuit breaker has a frame current rating of 255 Amps. For the breaking capacity, the circuit breaker has a rating of 35 kiloAmps at 480 Volts AC and one of 50 kiloAmps at 415 Volts AC. With an I frame size, the 140G-I3C3-D22 circuit breaker accommodates internal accessories such as the shunt trip, UV relay, auxiliary contact, alarm contact, and the AX/AL combo.

For external accessories, the 140G-I3C3-D22 circuit breaker supports standard accessories such as an end cap, 25 millimeters phase barriers, and insulators. However, it also accommodates other accessories such as terminal lugs, extended terminals, spreader terminals, terminal covers, direct rotaries, internal NFPA 79, flange operators, variable depths, and flange cables. The 140G-I3C3-D22 circuit breaker uses a fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip type, and it has 3 poles. Note that accessories such as a shunt trip are used with molded case circuit breakers to allow for the remote tripping of the circuit breaker by applying a control voltage to the shunt trip coil. A shunt-close accessory, on the other hand, is mainly used when the breaker is interfaced with a spring motor. It allows for the remote closing of the 140G-I3C3-D22 circuit breaker when the spring motor is charged.
