The 140U-D6D3-B40 circuit breaker is a molded case circuit breaker that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The 140U-D6D3-B40 circuit breaker is part of the Allen-Bradley 140U MCB series, and it comes with field-installable accessories. The Allen-Bradley 140U MCB circuit breakers feature the thermal-magnetic and fixed thermal trip units. The 140U MCB circuit breakers also feature various accessories, including the load terminal covers that are required for UL489 compliance. Another accessory that comes with the 140U-D6D3-B40 circuit breaker is the 3-phase compact busbar, and the feeder terminal for the compact busbar. The unit also features the eco-connection module with eco-load feeders for mounting on a single DIN rail. The Allen-Bradley molded case circuit breakers feature an extension shaft that provides the unit with support. The extension shaft ensures the consistent alignment of the 140U-D6D3-B40 circuit breaker and the door coupling handles. The 140U-D6D3-B40 circuit breaker features the D Frame type, and it comes with a rated current of 4 Amps. The unit also features a 100 kA breaking capacity, which is also equivalent to the interrupting rating. The pole configuration that the unit comes with is either 2 or 3 poles. The rated insulation voltage is 690 Volts IEC while the unit has a rated frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz. The Allen-Bradley 140U-D6D3-B40 circuit breaker features alarm contacts. The alarm contacts are special auxiliary contacts that indicates the status of the molded case circuit breaker. The different statuses may occur as a result of an overload, a short circuit, a residual current, a shunt trip, an undervoltage release, or as a result of pressing the test button. Note that manually switching the breaker off does not affect the contacts.
The 140U-D6D3-B40 is a D-Frame, 3-Pole circuit breaker from Allen-Bradley. This breaker is compatible for use in Feed Circuit applications, inside small cabinets, and distribution panels. It may also be used in branch circuit protection, transformers, and heaters. This breaker may also be installed in control circuits as isolation for control transformers and power supplies. With the compact design and minimum space requirements, the 140U-D6D3-B40 molded case circuit breaker is especially compatible in Heating, Air conditioning, and Refrigeration (HACR) applications. Additionally, this breaker is suitable for backfeeding at 240V and 480Y/277V.
As a D-Frame breaker, the device current range is 0.5 Amperes to 30 Amperes while the rated current is 4 Amperes. It has a breaking capacity @ 50 Hertz of 100 Icu, 65 Ics @ 400-415 Volts; 65 Icu and 65 Ics @ 525 Volts; 18 Icu and 10 Ics @ 690 Volts. The 140U-D6D3-C10 interrupt capacity is 100 kA @240 Volts / 480Y / 277 and 50kA @ 600Y / 374 Volts.
