About 140U-I3C3-C90
The Allen-Bradley 140U-I3C3-C90 circuit breaker is a molded case circuit breaker that has been designed to provide motor protection against abnormal levels of current and against short-circuit currents. Its main goal is to perform a tripping action that opens and closes the breaker when it is exposed to abnormal currents. The breaker belongs to the Frame I product line of the 140U series by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This breaker comes with three poles that perform the tripping action. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 140U-I3C3-C90 molded case circuit breaker comes with two different detection methods, and both of these methods can detect multiple currents at once, making the breaker more effective than breakers with a single detection method. These methods consist of a fixed magnetic mechanism and fixed thermal mechanism and it uses magnets and heat to perform the detection mechanisms. The heat provided by the current is able to bend two bimetal bars. It is important to maintain a stable temperature so that the breaker can detect significant current variances without any problems.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 140U-I3C3-C90 molded case circuit breaker comes with a current rating of 205 Amps and an endurance rating of approximately 10,000 operating cycles during appropriate operating conditions. It is recommended to mount the breaker in an enclosure and to use wiring that can handle operation at 75 degrees Celsius. The position of the breaker can be horizontal or vertical or up or down since the mounting direction does not affect its functioning. This breaker has a power consumption rating of 12 Volts and an efficiency rating of 100% at 40 degrees Celsius. If the circuit breaker is being used at a higher temperature than 40 degrees Celsius, the breaker will need to be derated or at least recalibrated. The same occurs when it is used at altitudes higher than 1,829 meters above sea level. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 140U-I3C3-C90 molded case circuit breaker is not acceptable for reverse feed applications since it comes with interchangeable trips.
