The 140U-I6C3-C20 is a Thermal-Magnetic circuit breaker from Allen-Bradley. This circuit breaker is a molded case frame and non-adjustable magnetic trip with a continuous current trip rating of 20 Amperes and NEMA size 1. This circuit breaker is applicable with motors rated 2 HP at 200 VAC; 3 HP at 230 VAC; 5 HP 318-415 VAC; 5 HP at 460 VAC and 7.5 HP at 575 VAC. It has a minimum magnetic trip of 500 Amperes and a Maximum of 1000 Amperes. This circuit breaker may also be used with Single-phase AC circuits. The 140U-I6C3-C20 has to interrupt rating of 100kA at 240 VAC, 65 kA at 480 VAC, 25 kA at 600 VAC, and 22 kA at 250 VDC based on UL489, CSA 22.2 No.5; 100kA at 240 VAC, 65 kA at 415 VAC, 25 kA and 22 kA at 250 VDC based on IEC 157-1; Use Copper or Aluminum wires with the 140U-I6C3-C20. With copper wires, the insulation rating must be 60 Degree Celsius while 75 Degree Celsius for Aluminum wires. For socket head terminals, used a Hex screw with a size of 3/16 inch or 5 mm and tighten with Torque amounting to 120 lb-in or 13.6 N-m. or 5/16 inch or 8 mm and apply a torque force of 275 Lb-in o 31.1 N-m. With Slotted head terminals, use 14-10 AWG or 2.5-6 mm and tighten with Torque of 35 lb-in or 4.0 N-m; 8 AWG or (10 mm) with 40 lb-in or 4.5 N-m Torque and 6-4 AWG or 16-25 mm with Torque of 45 Lb-in and 5.1 N-m.
The 140U-I6C3-C20 circuit breaker is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker that has been designed and distributed by Allen-Bradley. This breaker is intended to operate alongside a starter and to be attached to motors and different kinds of equipment that require current protection. This breaker comes within a NEMA Type 1 enclosure that protects it against solid particles. This enclosure does not protect the breaker against liquids. The breaker is suitable to operate in a vertical, horizontal, up, or down position. It is recommended to keep distances between the breaker and other pieces of equipment to avoid overheating. The Allen-Bradley 140U-I6C3-C20 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker can operate with different ratings at a voltage range from 200 to 575 Volts and a frequency of 60 Hertz. The breaker has a continuous current rating of 20 Amps. The Allen-Bradley 140U-I6C3-C20 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker Horsepower rating goes from 2 to 7.5 Horsepower. The magnetic trip range goes from 500 to 1000 Amps. This breaker has a moderate interrupting rating among the breakers from the series. The Allen-Bradley 140U-I6C3-C20 thermal-magnetic circuit breaker consists of a non-adjustable magnetic trip that comes with a starter and it belongs to the Frame I series. When the breaker has been properly selected and installed, the combination of it with any overload relay provides protection against short-circuit and ground fault damage that can be caused by abnormal currents. It also provides overcurrent and branch circuit protection for motors that are constantly in operations. The breaker comes with three poles that are connected together that react and perform a tripping action once detection has been performed.
