The Allen-Bradley 140U-I6C3-D15-S is an Inverse Time, 3-pole, I-Frame, Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) with a continuous current rating of 150 Amps. The Horsepower ratings are different for different voltages that are chosen according to the user applications. They can be 25 Horsepower at 200 Volts AC, 25 to 30 Horsepower at 230 to 415 Volts AC, and 50 Horsepower at 380 to 415 Volts AC. Like all the Allen-Bradley 140U circuit breakers, the Allen-Bradley 140U-I6C3-D12 circuit breaker has an inverse time response to incoming over-currents. When it senses a high magnitude incoming overcurrent, its response time is faster than when it senses a low magnitude incoming overcurrent. That means the circuit breaker will open the circuit at a high velocity to protect the load against large over-currents and allow it to stay closed for a longer time to trip when over-currents are not as big, allowing the process extra time to stabilize itself.

The Allen-Bradley 140U-I6C3-D15-S circuit breaker is a common element in all types of installations requiring overcurrent protection for motor control. It can be used in combination with other elements such as contactors and disconnect switches to form a motor starter. Its magnetic trip triggers in a range starting at 800 Amps and at up to 1600 Amps. The interrupting rating or breaking capacity of the Allen-Bradley 140U-I6C3-D15-S circuit breaker is of 65 kA. Both the magnetic and the thermal tripping points are fixed, pre-configured by default in the factory. Some additional components such as the internal control modules, auxiliary contacts, rotary operators, and flex cable operators can be added to the MCCB to further enhance its capabilities.
